Dr Audrey Gathy has been a GP in Double Bay for over 25 year and was a founding member of the Cooper Street Clinic since its inception in 2001.

She graduated from the University of Sydney in 1985 with Honours, and after several years of hospital practice, including twelve months spent working in the Emergency Department of the Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, she did post graduate studies, attaining her Certificate of Family Planning and Sexual Health through the Family Planning Association in 1991 and then completing her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Dr Gathy has a strong interest in Paediatrics and Women’s Health, and is affiliated with The Royal Hospital for Women (Randwick), King George Women’s and Babies (RPA) Camperdown, Sutherland, Canterbury and St George Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospitals to provide shared antenatal care. As well as antenatal care she is interested in providing follow-up care to neonates, childhood immunisations and general paediatric care.

She believes in providing wholistic medical care to families at all stages of life and will attend to her aged-care patients in several nursing homes.

She speaks Hungarian fluently, some French and has an understanding of German. Outside of the practice, Dr Gathy loves to play tennis and travel with her husband. She also enjoys cycling or reading in her down-time as well as spending time with her adult children and their partners.
